Bleaching
Bleaching
can make a significant difference in the color of your teeth,
however, whiteners may not correct all types of discoloration.
For example, yellow-ish hued teeth will probably bleach well,
brownish-colored teeth may bleach less well, and grayish-hued
teeth may not bleach well at all. Likewise, bleaching may not
enhance your smile if you have had bonding or tooth-colored fillings
placed in your front teeth. The whitener will not effect the color
of these materials, and they will stand out in your newly whitened
smile. In these cases, you may want to investigate other options,
like porcelain veneers or dental bonding.
Bleaching
may require more than one office visit. Each visit may take from
30 minutes to one hour.
During bleaching,
Dr.Nukk will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber
shield to protect the oral soft tissues. A bleaching agent is
then applied to the teeth, and a special light may be used to
enhance the action of the agent.
Bonding
Thanks to a dental technique called bonding, you don't have
to live with chips, cracks, stains or gaps in your teeth.
When you choose
bonding, Dr. Nukk prepares your tooth with an etching solution.
Then composite resin materials are blended in colors carefully
chosen to match your own teeth. These materials are applied to
your teeth, then shaped into just the right contours. Finally
they're hardened or bonded in place.
Teeth that
have been bonded look just like your own teeth. And bonding can
be an affordable way to have the smile you've always wanted.

Veneers
Porcelain Veneers, sometimes called laminates, are thin shells
of porcelain placed over the front surfaces of teeth.
Porcelain
Veneers are ideal for making changes to the shape and/or color
of your teeth. Generally, a more esthetic effect can be achieved
by placing multiple veneers/ laminates rather than a single one.
If you have existing dental work or very misaligned teeth, you
may require more extensive cosmetic treatment. porcelain
crowns or orthodontics may be required
to give you the best result.
Patients generally
need three appointments to complete the procedure:
1. Diagnosis and treatment planning:
Dr.Nukk will discuss with you all of the treatment options available
and if you're a candidate for veneers.
2. Preparation:
This appointment usually takes between one to two hours. In preparation
for veneer placement, the teeth to receive the veneers are recontoured
to allow for the added thickness of the veneers. Once the teeth
have been prepared, an impression is taken of the teeth, which
is sent to the laboratory for veneer fabrication. Depending on
the lab and your location, they're usually back to Dr. Nukk within
1 - 2 weeks.
3.Final cementation:
The final appointment will take between one to two hours. Dr.
Nukk will place the veneers with water or glycerine on your teeth
to check their fit and evaluate their color match. While the veneers
are temporarily resting on your teeth, make sure you get a good
look, pay particular attention to the color. At this point, the
color of the veneers can still be adjusted through the shade of
the cement Dr, Nukk uses. Once the veneers have been cemented,
the color cannot be altered. The tooth is then cleansed with specific
chemicals to prepare it for cementation. Once a special cement
is sandwiched between the veneer and tooth, a light beam is used
to initiate the release of a chemical catalyst used to harden
the cement.
It'll take
about a week for you to get adjusted to your new veneers. Make
sure you continue to brush and floss daily. After one or two weeks,
Dr. Nukk will ask you to return for a follow-up appointment.
